UW-Madison Gym and Natatorium

UW-Madison Gym and Natatorium | This project demolished the Gymnasium/Natatorium (Gym/Nat) facility that no longer adequately supported the space needs of Recreational Sports and constructed a replacement facility on the same site. Demolition began in August of 2020 and construction for the new facility began in the spring of 2021 with completion in 2023. Now called the Bakke Recreation and Wellbeing center, it provides dedicated space for a wellness center, a sub-zero ice center, 8 multipurpose courts, indoor track, over 29,000 square feet of fitness space, a rooftop fitness area, as well as a 25-yard recreational pool. All these spaces are served by a total of 10 separate AHUs, with the pool and Ice rinks utilizing specialty AHUs designed to dehumidify these spaces.
