Welcome Race Fans.
It was a beautiful quiet Sunday afternoon along the Sugar River until 60 of 1901’s fastest Tin Bangers (Sheetmetal), Pipe Slingers (Fitters and Plumbers), and Pencil Pushers (Office Staff) showed up at the Sugar River Raceway to compete for glory.
The day started out with everyone divided up into Red, White, and Blue squads to race in a time trial event, and 2 heat races to earn their way into the A, B or C main events. All races were extremely action packed, some of the races were clean, some were like bumper cars.
At the end of the day, Ryan Ethridge, King of the Tin Bangers, defended his title winning the A main event. Dean Ethridge, also of the Tin Bangers, won the B main event, and Henry Milz of the Pipe Slingers won the C main event. The Tin Bangers defended their group traveling trophy for the 2nd year.
Thank you to Kathy Brechlin for organizing the event, Peggy Thomas and Laura Farrell for taking the photos, and also the Sugar River Raceway for hosting.
